64th day
64th day July 15th Sunday

Today, one sad accident happened to us. One of my schoolmates was drowned to death today. He came to CPILS just one week ago. He went to a water resort in Mactan today. I do not know what exactly happened to him but allegedly he had suffered from heart trouble in the sea and was drowned to death. He was found floating on the sea. He was alive at that time. But after he was sent to a hospital, he deceased.
I feel it is a little bit strange because fifteen Koreans went there together so some of them should have watched on him. But what's done cannot be undone. We have to accept the fact and try to prevent the similar cases. I guess CPILS will not publicize the accident. It happened outside of the school, outside of the school hours. No school staff was there and no staff was in charge of the activity that accidentally caused the fatal case.
I think it is okay not to tell people outside of CPILS but I think CPILS have responsibility to inform students in CPILS what happened yesterday. I do not say that CPILS is liable to the case but we have a right to know.
As far as I know, there were two fatal accidents to CPILS students so far. One is the case that happened yesterday. The other is the case that happened to Japanese lady about a year ago. I have not heard anything from the school officially. There is no way to conceal these accident. Why don't they make it public?

Today I swam twice, each for 30 minutes without noticing the fatal accident. Swimming in busy CPILS pool is relatively safe. There are usually many students, teachers and staff around the swimming pool.

63rd day
63rd day July 14th Saturday

I should have gotten up early this morning to change 1:4 class but I could not. I woke up at 10:30 then I went to office to change my class. There were not many classes available for me. Classes for level 5 is not abundant at all, that some of them are occupied and some of them fall on my other classes. Anyway I found one available class that is designed to 5-Middle students. Only one student was on the list and there were not so many classes suitable for me that I chose that class. Albert is going to be my 1:4 teacher. I have heard that he is a very good teacher that I am expecting a lot from him.

62nd day
62nd day July 13th Friday

Nothing special happened today. It was a kind of boring day but I have to relax sometimes.

This evening I went to a Japanese restaurant called Chirorin mura with a Japanese old guy. There might be two or three Japanese ladies coming with us but they were all busy that I went there only with him. Anyway we went there, it took Php 80 to go there by taxi. The restaurant was quite similar to restaurants in Japan. They had similar menu and similar atmosphere. The waitresses were well trained and spoke in Japanese. The biggest difference I noticed was the number of waitresses. There were about 12 waitresses and the number was much larger than the restaurant in Japan. At first, I thought I was in a maid cafe or something like that. I ate a lot and drink a little. And that cost Php 2,100, that is about 5,700 yen, for two. It is very expensive compared with the prices here in Cebu, but is not expensive compared with the prices in Japan.

At night, I went to Sarisari and met Japanese friends. I could have been to Pump or like that but I was a little bit tired and I have to change class tomorrow so I went to bed early again.

Five Japanese are arriving this weekend. One on Saturday evening and four on Sunday evening. All of them are male. That could lessen my motivation to go to Snack Bar to meet them.

61st day
61st day July 12th Thursday

I got the result of progress test today. It was amazing.

Reading was 5L that is the same level I had gotten in the previous one. This means that Rizza's torture did not work well.
Writing was 5L that is 3 levels higher than the previous one. I think my hand writing was awful but the grader kindly graded my essay.
Listening was 5H that is 4 levels higher than the previous one. The practice focusing on British accent worked well.
Speaking was 5L that is 2 levels higher than the previous one. I would like to improve my pronunciation in order to get higher level in the last progress test.
English in Use was 6M. English in Use is only used for high level students and this is the first time to have English in Use result.

Average level has become 5M that is 3 levels higher than the previous one. There are not many students who have higher level than me. But there is still big room to improve especially my bad pronunciation. I would like to get 5H or 6L in the last progress test.
